Information for passengers who have bought flights with Play using a debit or credit card
As the airline Play has ceased trading, Arion Bank wishes to point out that the general rule is that cardholders of Visa payment cards (both debit and credit cards) have the right to claim a refund for prepaid services, which were paid for with a payment card but which have not been or will not be provided.
Cardholders who have booked flights with Play which were paid for with payment cards can demand a refund for a flight which will not take place. Customers are asked to claim the refund on Arion Bank’s website and choose the type of refund as “Play Services Not Rendered: Flights”
The claim for a refund must be accompanied by a copy of the booking including the following information: booking number, number of passengers, date of flight, and departure and destination airports.
We urge cardholders to submit claims for refunds as soon as possible as processing might be subject to delay. Refunds must be claimed within 120 days of the date of the scheduled flight.
If the cardholder booked the trip through a travel agency, please contact that travel agency.
Further information can be found on the website of the Icelandic Transport Authority.
