Arion Bank receives two awards at Banking Technology Awards
Arion Bank received awards in two categories at the Banking Technology Awards which was held for the 19th time 13 December.
Arion Bank was nominated in two categories and competed with international banks such as Credit Suisse, Bank of America, Barclays, BBVA, Morgan Stanley and Royal Bank of Scotland to name a few. The categories were:
- Best Tech Overhaul Project

The bank received the award in the former category for its internal digital solutions accelerator, „Digital Future“, a customer focused accelerator where employees from different divisions within the Bank come together for 16 weeks to develop a new digital solution. Through the accelerator, Arion Bank has so far delivered 19 digital solutions and products for its customers.
In the second category, Arion Bank received the awards for its digital credit assessment and mortgage process, a fully digital end-to-end process that only takes 20 minutes for customers to finalize, instead of days or weeks as before.
Arion Bank was the only bank to take home two awards. The awards are the fourth awards in 2018 that Arion Bank receives for its digital enhancements.
Höskuldur H. Ólafsson, CEO of Arion Bank:
„We are extremely proud of our customers‘ responses to the series of digital products and services we have introduced in recent years. Our aim is first and foremost to improve our services and increase the convenience for our customers when it comes to financial services. Arion Bank will continue on this path and new solutions will be presented in the weeks and months to come. It is the Bank‘s goal to continue to be a leader in digital financial solutions in Iceland and these awards serve as a strong encouragement on that journey.““
